THE VILLAS |
| |
|
|
A quaint walkway leads to each tent,
where elephant-tusk-styled door
handles open into a living area
measuring 54 square metres (581
square feet). The 15 tents are named
after local hill tribes, fauna and
flora. Each shares a common layout,
but is uniquely decorated and
furnished in an individual colour
scheme with coordinated furnishings.
-
The outdoor deck measures 37
square metres (398 square feet)
and features a daybed and two
massage beds built on a wooden
platform, covered by the
extended roof.
-
The living area features
hardwood flooring, a large
hardwood desk with
leather-and-hardwood bush
chairs, paddle fans, a
free-standing mirror and
binoculars for bird watching.
-
A luxurious sleeping area
features a bed with mosquito
net. Nearby is a shelf
displaying books and magazines
about the culture, history and
natural environment of the
region.
-
An open-plan bathroom is
incorporated into the living
area, featuring a custom-made,
two-person, hand-hammered copper
bathtub with hand shower in the
centre of the tent. An outdoor
rain shower and separate WC are
adjacent to the living area.
-
Additional amenities include air
conditioning and heating,
coffee- and tea-making
facilities, a multi-line
cordless telephone with voice
mail, wireless high-speed
-
Internet access and data port,
an in-tent safe and a
refrigerated private bar.
-
Due to the Camp's remote
location, only Internet
newspapers are available.
In an effort to protect the
sounds of nature and the forest
environment, televisions, DVD
players and radios are not
provided
15 free-standing tented
accommodations spaced at a
comfortable distance from each other
allow total privacy. Built on
elevated ground along a one-kilometre
(0.6-mile) hillside trail
overlooking the Ruak River, Burma,
the mountains of Laos or the jungle
and Golden Triangle, each tent is
designed as an open space with a
large outdoor deck. Furnishings are
handcrafted and custom-made, in
styles reminiscent of 19th-century
adventure expeditions. Each tent
features one king or two twin beds.
